About

Perfect Flow is one runner's mission to explore the effects of training, mindset and community on progress and performance in endurance sport. And share all of it.

This idea was born out of the collision of many paths; the pursuit of high performance, the necessity to quantify and control training to avoid injury, the idea that relationships are the biggest contributor to happiness, and the belief that ones primary goal should be to improve the world around them.

My name is Gene and I live in Auckland, New Zealand. I love a lot of things, especially running. I started running seriously in 2010, coaching in 2014, and have always shared my experiences along the way. Now, in 2018, I'm taking things to the next level by leaving my job as a medical device engineer in favor of pursuing a number of my own projects. I plan to do more coaching, develop my training tools further, and engage with the community in ways not possible until now.

I'm hesitant to define Perfect Flow any more than necessary, as it will likely grow and adapt in directions I cannot foresee. In many ways it is a digital version of me.

In order for Perfect Flow to be sustainable, a critical part of the journey has to be to find ways for people to support the project. Currently on offer are a number of training related services and the hope is to find new and interesting ways for people to receive value from supporting the project.
